Update from Lake Okeechobee
I talked to Misti today. Here is a rundown of what has been going on… – They made it to Clewiston on Friday. – Lots of road walking. Walking on levees and through burning cane fields. Its been pretty boring since leaving Big Cypress. – Had a trail angel pick them up today and take them to the grocery store to pick up food for the next week. – It’ll be about about 10 days until they will be anywhere to access a computer and post something themselves. – Wildlife seen: osprey, snail kite, white pelican, eastern diamondback, cottonmouth, raccoon, armadillo. Group Hiking
From our days hiking with Caboose and Spark and Merf. Meeting Hit and Miss at the Cookie Lady’s house. Finding a Moose track! COOL! The beauty on Upper Goose Pond. At the Mt. Wilcox #2 shelter for the night. Blueberry pickin’!! On Bear Mtn, Ct, right before going into Mass. Merf and Chris swimming in Sages Ravine. Too cold for me! Chris and Caboose on Bear Mtn.

PA/NJ
Misti called me this evening. They are spending the night in a hostel on the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border at Delaware Water Gap. They spent their wedding anniversary on the trail yesterday. Today they were able to celebrate it with a short 13 mile day and a steak dinner. They’ll be resupplying soon in Unionville.

Misti’s brother here. I talked to Misti and Chris over the weekend. They had just finished lunch and were continuing on for a few more miles. I think they are about tired of walking in PA. Tired of climbing over rocks. That’s all I got for now. They should hit a town soon.
