12. Little Me – December Reflections 2022

misti1

I don’t have many photos of Little Me around as most of those photos are at my parent’s house, but I do have a scan of this photo on hand. It may have even appeared on this blog at some point in the last 20 years, too, so apologies if you’ve seen it before!

For years I thought I caught this fish. Years. I was three and we’d gone down to Rockport for a vacation, I feel like it might have been over Labor Day weekend. My parents can probably clarify that part. I remember the condo we stayed at and can conjure up some vague memories and feelings about what the inside looked like. I know it was on Key Allegro and I believe it is what is labeled as Casa Allegro Condos but I’m not totally sure on that.

So, lo and behold, some years later I find out my dad had caught the fish and I was just posing with the fish for the photo op! WHAT? Dashing my dreams of being a 3-year old fisherwoman!

I still like the photo, looking at it, because it reminds me of all of those family vacations to Port A and Rockport growing up. Little Me, getting that taste of the ocean from a young age!

(PS: I’m finding if I don’t pre-write and schedule these, or do them first thing in the morning, they won’t get done. So you’ll see some doubling up on posts for a day or two!)

For several years, I had a customer in Key Allegro. I loved doing the boat, partly because it was such a cool area. There was a deli at Copano Bay that served the best muffaletta in the world!
