So, I love my job, even when I’m wading in chest deep water. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! Luckily we didn’t see any alligators or water moccasins!

You know it’s a good day when you are canoeing at work! We had a nice canoe, though it got a little bit tough when we ended up in a thick mat of salvinia…talk about friction!

Driving down a canal road we saw our first softshell turtle, a spiny softshell, Apalone spinifera.

Not sure what the yellow goo is, though. Anyone have an idea?

Love what I’m doing just wish it was 8-5 (or 4), weekends off, permanent with insurance, vacation and holidays! Should be working this through sometime in June and who knows what we’re doing after that!
