4.5″ of rain on Friday and the subsequent runoff upstream has filled the pond back up!

The saying goes that a flood will break a Texas drought and it looks like that’s where some of us are heading this coming week, starting with the DFW area overnight.

You had more rain than we did, but there still are some chances this week. On the other hand, the grass mowers are going crazy, and there are native rain lilies popping up all over — some variety of Ruellia, too. I’ve never seen so many. I think they’re happy!

I love ponds. My wife and I go to Cape Cod most years. Ponds are scattered throughout Cape Cod, some deep in woods. Being around ponds there calms me down a lot.
